A red taxi waits under stacked neon signs on a Mong Kok corner at night, seen through a wide, curved fisheye-style view.
Red, blue and amber signs with Chinese lettering climb the old buildings above the taxi, and a lit shopfront glows warm at street level. The curved perspective bends the street towards the edges, the shadows stay deep and the green-tinted grade gives the corner a late-night, slightly surreal feel in the spirit of Wong Kar-wai’s Hong Kong films.
THE MOOD: dark, saturated and a little dreamlike, a quiet street where the neon does the talking.
WHY THIS PIECE STANDS OUT:
A different take on a busy corner: the curved view and darker, greener grade make it feel unlike a straight street shot.
Strong contrast, clean finish: bright reds and blues against near-black shadows, with the warm shopfront as a counterpoint and very little grain.
Horizontal format: made for the wall above a sofa, a desk, a bar shelf or a sideboard.
GET THE LOOK: I processed this image using my Neon Grunge Lightroom Preset, then retouched it to remove the grain for a cleaner finish.
Available in Luster paper (240gsm) and Matte paper (200gsm).
Framing available upon request.
Please note that the final dimensions of the print may vary slightly (2–4 mm) due to the trimming process.
